How to use these dates

  • Weekend and holiday moves are built in. When a due date falls on a weekend or federal holiday, it moves to the next business day. In 2027 that moves several dates, including W-2s and 1099-NEC to February 1.
  • An extension isn’t more time to pay. Forms 7004 and 4868 extend the filing date only. Tax owed is still due on the original date.
  • Some dates are expected, not confirmed. New Jersey hasn’t published a 2027 calendar yet, and the January 18, 2028 estimated payment is our calculation. Check the source before you file.
  • Fiscal-year businesses follow the same rules, counted from their own year-end, so their dates will differ.

For every date with its source, penalties and the estimated tax safe harbor, read our guide to small business tax deadlines for 2027. New Jersey businesses should also see our New Jersey small business taxes guide. If you’d rather not track them yourself, our tax compliance service does it for you.
